Dawn Pryor was born December 20th in Florida. She is the youngest of three daughters. Raised in Miami, Dawn attended Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School. There Dawn studied under the choral direction of Beth Chasin in the S.T.A.R Academy Magnet Program. Among dabbling in the competitive sports of Cross Country and Track & Field, she performed in the musicals Once Upon a Mattress and Little Shop of Horrors.
She went on to attend the University of Central Florida as a Theatre Studies major and received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. At the UCF Conservatory Theatre she was seen in the musical Once on This Island, Lysistrata, and Good woman of Setzuan. Dawn's credits also include the UCF Multicultural and Gospel Choir, the University Christian Fellowship praise team and step team, and the theatre fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega. Dawn's interests include musical theatre, film, and television.
Dawn's Chicago credits include the Black Ensemble Theater's Plays with a Purpose series, Studio One Dance Conservatory's 2007 season show "The Game", and Cornerstone Productions "One Night Only". Most recently Ms. Pryor has finished up the run of Sarafina, the music of liberation with the Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre in Evanston, IL. This production of Sarafina has just been nominated for 5 awards with the Black Theatre Alliance.
Currently you can locate Dawn in a dance studio taking tap and jazz classes and interning with MADD Rhythms tap dance company under the direction of the former FieldCrest instructor, Bril Barrett. She is constantly finding ways to improve her craft and Fieldcrest is giving her a chance to do that by allowing her to pass on her knowledge of this wonderful artform we call tap dance.
