Erica Thomas was born in St. Louis, MO and raised in Chicago, IL. She began taking dance classes at the age of thirteen at Studio One Dance Conservatory. After high school she majored in dance at Illinois State University and received her Bachelors degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Dance. While at ISU Erica danced in and choreographed for one of the greatest dance groups on campus called the Noir Dance Troupe.

Following graduation Erica went on to achieve her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance at the University of Iowa. Along with taking classes at the university, she worked as a graduate teaching assistant, performed with Dancers in Company (the University of Iowa's own touring dance company), and taught in the schools dance forum program for local children and adults.

In past time Erica worked with the praise dance ministry at her church fellowship, performed with a local dance company, Bal-Chi and performed with a newly found hip-hop praise dance ministry, Gods Lively Stones, at Salem Baptist Church..
