Tara Covington

Tara Covington was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. She has two children who showed a special interest in the fine arts and cultural activities. Ten years ago when her daughter was three years old she enrolled her in tot classes at FieldCrest. Her daughter is currently enrolled in Ballet/Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Acting and Modeling.

After watching her daughter’s achievement Tara decided to try Tap, Jazz, and Modeling class, while working as the school’s receptionist. Over the years Tara has become a role model and motivator.

Under the watchful eye of Jason Wilder the modeling director, Tara became a full time modeling student and has been very helpful with fashion show productions. In 2003 she began to guest model in the FieldCrest fashion shows. Her mastery of body stance and alignment, as well as her taste in fashion is a direct result of her dedication to the art of runway modeling.

While working closely with Mr. Easter the acting instructor Tara has become skilled at backstage theater production. She has used this knowledge to enhance her performance skills, and has spent the last 3 years working as FieldCrest backstage manager. Performing in front of the stage and learning the skill of what goes on backstage has given Tara a wonderful perspective and understanding of what goes on behind the scenes of a theatrical production.

Currently Tara is employed with the Federal Government, and looks forward to this new teaching position at FieldCrest.
